While summer is nearing the end and everyone is prepping for going back to school, these are some great products that can be used year round – especially here in SoCal and other southern places where its still going to be warm for a few more months! We love to play outside and so great products like an Anti-UV Suni sun tent from bbluv, sun protective cream from Les Produits De MaYa will help keep your kids protected and having fun. One lucky USA or Canadian resident can win below:
The bbluv baby and kid sized Anti-UV tent
Suni pops up and folds back down into a disc. It’s lightweight and protects from both UVA and UBV rays, as well as wind. With a vent flap in the back, a carry bag, and 3 pegs to secure in the ground, this super lightweight tent is easy to carry to the park or beach. You can get one on Amazon

Swim diapers are one of my favorite summer items! They prevent anything unwanted from making it’s way into the water. Bummis
, offers swim diapers in a one-size design, fitting babies from approximately 10-35 pounds, and multiple patterns and colors these are great for cloth diapered and non-cloth diapered babies alike. You only buy one and easy to wash and reuse it! With a snap-closure and double gussets, these swim diapers
are accepted by swim classes and pools.
Time in the sun wouldn’t be complete without baby safe sunscreen
. This sun protectant cream by Les Proudits de MaYa is made from natural, organic and whole ingredients safe for kids and babies. With zinc oxide as the sun-protecting ingredients, this blend is made from organic extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil, organic yellow caranuba wax, organic shea butter, zinc oxide with no nano and Vitamin E for preservation, this cream smells great and protects well too. It is great for little ones sensitive skin!

Snacking is hard! You are hungry but maybe want to eat junk – maybe you don’t! You want to snack healthy but want yummy treats! Protein superfood pudding to the rescue!! This yummy treat is simple, dairy free, & filled with nutrient dense plant-based protein!
I am working with Amazing Grass to share about their new Protein Superfood! It has 20g of plant-based protein, 7 alkalizing greens & 2 servings of fruits and vegetables! If you are in a rush or even just lazy (I know it happens!!) Then this all-in-one superfood will help you be fuller & healthier! Plus the flavor is Chocolate Peanut Butter so I’m pretty sure you can’t go wrong!!!
Protein Superfood Pudding
- ¾-1 c Almond Milk (or other milk)
- 1 serving Amazing Grass Protein Superfood
- 1 frozen Banana
- up to 1 TBSP Cocoa Powder (optional)
- Add all ingredients in the blender & blend until smooth.
- Chill for 30 mins or until time to serve
- Top with chocolate chips or sprinkles for a fun treat!
I love having this in the evenings. As a nursing mom, I always get hungry about 10 pm! I really struggle with finding something yummy to eat! Sometimes I have apple & almond butter or just a little protein and milk, but this is totally going to be my new go-to evening snack! Its so filling as well! Best of all – my kids both LOVED this! What is a better snack than something which already has fruits & veggies in it PLUS chocolate? I can’t think of much else!
How do you like to snack? What is your favorite snack?
* I was provided samples of the protein for my review. Affiliate links may be used in this post.
Helllooo!!! Remember me? I’m still here… been plugging along and finally back to running! You can see my updates on my Instagram!
I need to do a ‘catch up’ post of what I’ve been doing because its really important in general for my health and wellness and I want to share it with you mostly for your learning!!
For now though – I finally went to the local running store and got NEW shoes and a new pair of socks!
These are the Mizuno Wave Inspire 12 and Balega hidden comfort socks. I love these socks – they are made in South Africa and super soft! I usually get a neutral shoe, but the guy at the store was noticing a little pronation in my right foot so we went the safe route. Bonus is that local running stores have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee! I love getting personalized shoe fitting!!
So what is the plan? Well the plan is to RUN. ha. My current goals are:
- Sprints 1x per week. anywhere from 6-10 30 second sprints.
- long sprints/mini tempo. 400-800 tempo intervals for now.
- Working up to a 5k. nothing strenuous but run/walk build up.
I have been doing some sprints off an on the last few months but am going to start tracking my progress. I would love to do a couple 5ks this summer, so we will see if I can slowly build up to that. I don’t really have bigger goals than that at the moment. I want to see how it goes getting back to running and how my body feels. its been about 3 years since I have run consistently so I want to take it slow! Plus I’m a few pounds heavier than I was a few years ago! My goal isn’t to compete right now. It is just to have run being back to running and getting my endurance built back up and helping myself get healthier!
Have you returned to running after a hiatus?
Holidays stress me out. I’m not a huge person into lots of gifts, but I think something little is fun. Last year for Easter the grandparents sent along a few items for the kids, but I really wanted some fun baskets to put stuff in and for them to use in the future for egg hunts and all.
When I talked to my mom about baskets she mentioned seeing some and I looked all over Etsy, but by the time I looked everything was pretty much sold out! 🙁 Soooo Off to Pinterest (follow me here!) I found this super cute post where she made some adorable baskets! The original tutorial is here.
I went and bought the fabric and stabilizer at Joann Fabrics but didn’t end up cutting everything out until Saturday Afternoon nap(ahem the day before Easter)!! Then I sewed the two baskets after getting the kids in bed Saturday Night. I would say for the two baskets it probably took me about 3 hours total. For the first time doing anything round and making this, I think it wasn’t bad! Here is the finished product:
And the baskets with stuff in them:
What was included in the Easter baskets? For Teddy: I had Aden + Anais blanket and lovies, My mom sent some clothes and fun book. For Hannah: I got an Aden + Anais blanket, an Applecheeks Swim Diaper, & my mom sent bubbles, a dress, outfit, a bath toy, and a little purse. My mother-in-law sent a book, stuffed bunny, some hopping wind up toys and play eggs and 2 other baskets.
The baskets were a total success. Hannah took her Easter basket with her everywhere Sunday! It was the perfect size for her small church egg hunt! She knew to get the eggs in her basket without me showing her!!
I’m so excited this year to have both kids enjoy their Easter baskets!! It was a fun and simple project. The ONLY change I would make would be to extend all the measurements by 1/2″ so there is more seam allowance. I’m not good at 1/4″ seams and it was pretty hard to put the bottoms in with that small seam!
