Today’s workout with Fit2Flex was torture Tabata. I I’ve heard of Tabata recently but was not quite sure of the details. Let me fill you in!
Tabata is a type of high-intensity training that can be completed in 4 minutes. Yes FOUR. It is an alternative that can be done to the hours of cardio you might think you need to do on the elliptical.
Now onto the workout:
Boy this may seem easy but trust me it is not! I started out on the treadmill with a brisk 10 minute incline walk to warm up. And wake up!
First up was the ball squats. Boy they were not easy after 4 rounds! These felt good. My legs were still a bit sore from Monday’s workout and I could feel it for sure.
Next was jump rope. I didn’t take my rope to the gym so I pretended. Jump rope is not for wimps!
Third were plank push ups. These were the hardest! I had to finish the last two rounds from my knees! My shoulders definitely feel these!
Fourth were the lunge … These are not bad but you will get out of breath in just 20s! It was clear to me in these that my right leg was easier than my left. Haha. Maybe that’s why all my running injuries have been left side??
Lastly just for kicks I added in 4 20s rounds of Burpees. Those are no joke either. I was running short on time and so I did 4 instead of 8. It was plenty though!
No puking this week but definitely feeling good!
How did you get your sweat on today?
I challenge YOU to #ThrowDownThursday
Another week has come and gone! This week has been pretty good all around! The weather has been really nice actually and work has been ‘normal’. haha. Looking forward to a sunny weekend here and we will take advantage! You never know if its going to be the last one!!
Working on cleaning up my eating lately and this is part of my lunch. Tuna with a hard boiled egg and a tad bit of mayo in a pita! This is really good and it has a TON of protein! Tuna is under-rated!
This week was a lot of this! Working out at the gym! 4 mornings this week I went to the gym to workout! I only skipped Tuesday. Every morning with me I have water and BCAAs. I am definitely sore, but feeling great this week!!
Thursday Morning I did the #ThrowDownThursday workout from Fit2Flex. It was awesome. I have not done leg press in a very long time. Here is my Recap of the workout!
Lots of sunshine this week. I was putting some Lotion on and set my rings down randomly. This is what I saw when I looked down! Fun!
This morning I finally made myself take my car in for service. It was in bad need of an oil change and I had a brake light out (yes I could have fixed it – convenience..) I was doing work emails on my phone but they had Andy Griffith on the TV. Gave me flash backs of being a little kid at my Granny’s house. She always watched this stuff!!
I’m linking up with Jeannette this week at Life Rearranged!
This weekend I took a little adventure with a running friend of mine. We hit the trails and did some hiking. Not really trail running as that wasn’t quite doable on this trail!
Here in Seattle we are surrounded by mountains! I grew up in the woods exploring and hiking everywhere so it is exciting to me! However I have to somehow make the time to get OUT and enjoy the mountains!
This weekend we headed to Mt. Si. I hiked Mt. Si once before when I first moved here. It has been about 3 years since I went up there. Not Mt. Si is not for the faint of heart. It is 8 miles round trip with about 3100 feet elevation change. It is pretty dang high!
It was cooler on Saturday and actually foggy! We started out about 10 in the morning. The weather kept the crowds to a minimum.
4 miles to go!
The miles didn’t pass too badly. The last mile was the hardest! We thought we were almost done then saw a sign for 3.5! We made it to the top in about 2:10.
Views at the top! It was still foggy and misty. No scenic views today!
We stayed at the top just long enough to eat a protein bar and few apple slices.
I had to put my jacket on because it was chilly up there! Had on my awesome Sparkly Soul headband and wore my Oisille Stripey Tee!
We stayed maybe 10 minutes at the top, and started down. A few places we did ‘jog’ to make things go faster, but overall we just walked. It took about 1:40 to get down.
We had a blast! I have to say that I was not sure I could do it, however as we hiked my confidence grew!
Yes I was incredibly sore the last two days but after a teary session with the foam roller last night, my legs feel almost new!
This was an awesome way to celebrate the first day of Fall! How did you celebrate Fall?
