I know I have been really really bad about posting updates! We however had about a month of visitors of family and were just enjoying our time together!
So to bring you up to speed and summarize:
At the 1 week checkup – Hannah was back to her birth weight-6.8 so they said we didn’t have to come in until 1 month.
1 month checkup – up to 8.14!! Getting big! Everything is all good per the doctor!
Sleep- This girl is a champ! Since about 3 weeks maybe we have been averaging 4-5 hours a night for the first stint then another 2.5-3.5 for the second. This pretty much means she is only up once per night!! Usually somewhere between 2-4. The time awake has been decreasing. During the day shes becoming more awake and doesn’t have a solid nap schedule yet, but will take some shorter (1hr) naps and then sometimes longer ones(2-3hr). Hopefully now that visitors are gone and whatnot we can try to get a better schedule going!
Eating – Clearly she eats!! Shes doing pretty well! We have been having some fussies lately but according to some research on KellyMom, it seems normal. She still pees and poops and is content so I’m not really worried. I am exclusively breastfeeding and do not have a pump! Crazy I know but we just dont see a need for it.
Reactions -We are just starting (literally the last few days) to get an actual reaction to smiles and whatnot.
Misc – We do have some cradle cap and had a fair amount of baby acne, but that is almost gone! She has some heat rash I think from the heat here in seattle! Its been a toasty summer!
The first few weeks were pretty rough! My mom was here so it was amazing to not have to worry about cleaning/laundry/food etc. Thanks Mom!! She rocked at keeping everything together and helping me adjust!
I was pretty sore and had some medium tearing to heal from. It was a lesson in patience! We did some walking, but it was pushing it for me. I did a lot of couch sitting & kindle reading before/during/after feedings etc. We slowly made excursions so that by the time my sister and dad came I’d be a lot better for longer excursions.
I did get full clearance from the doctor and am excited about starting to workout! I am going to start slow with bodyweight exercies and walking until I start feeling a lot better. Then I’ll work back into my running! I can’t wait!
As for the the weight issue- I am 3 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. Yes just hate me. I did work really hard to stay fit and eat well while being pregnant. I’ll talk about that in another post. This is not close to my ideal weight so I have some work to do. I’m just glad to have my original weight as my starting point!
Other than that, I feel pretty good about the sleep I’m getting and don’t take too many naps but do get a good rest time usually.
